profile

I love profiles, silhouettes or anything like so.

Someday I'd like to get this done and hang it in her nursery.

the moon at night

and some other abstract lights that I was experimenting with:

the last couple nights have been so bright with the moon reflecting the snow... so peaceful.

snowy day

It's friday, it's snowing, and we're inside.

It was a rare moment for Violet to be this content on her changing table. Usually I'm wrestling her to stay still while I attempt to change her diaper. So I pulled out my camera...

a change of scenery...

these were taken somewhere off the shores of Alaska a few years back. All were taken with an older 35mm film camera but the colors and sharpness surprised me {although the scans don't do them justice}. I found them while digging through some boxes last night.

i do

good job everyone, you all guessed right and make me proud.

film vs. digital

Although I do use digital {a lot}, I still love film and the dimension and tangible qualities that it has. There's nothing like the anticipation of waiting to get your prints back, as apposed to immediate gratification {or not}. That's why I am going to Hawaii for this, not only because I think it will be super helpful, informative and refreshing-- but because the idea of it makes me giddy. Yep, I'm a nerd. Also, I can't pass up the opportunity to learn from such a successful, and increasingly popular Utah based photographer who has his lighting down to perfection. And an excuse to take a trip to Hawaii isn't too shabby either.

So, who can guess which is which? One set is digital, the other film:

vs.

- if you can't tell that difference, that's okay:) they are pretty simalar and I love the digital too...

kiddies

just a few from a session I did a while back; they were the cutest darn kids ever.

her many faces

Yes, I enjoy posting photos of my lovely little daughter violet and I don't think that will be changing any time soon. She has been such a joy in our lives and is getting funner every day. She pulls all sorts of faces now that make us laugh, and as you can see has constant drool on her chin. At 8 months now she is almost crawling, sticks anything and everything into her mouth, and says "ba ba ba" a lot. Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky, and wonder how she got so lucky to be blessed with those beautiful blue eyes. Where did she get them anyway??
